Players of Dakkada Football Club of Uyo have been given a clean bill of health after they underwent and passed routine medical checks which were conducted at the Nest of Champions recently ahead of the commencement of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The 2018/2019 NNL champions were given the all-clear after all the results of the multifarious tests conducted came through, including full blood count, cardiovascular system, ECG, musculoskeletal system, Echocardiography, liver and kidney function, among many others.
Speaking at the team’s training ground, chairman of Dakkada, Coach Aniedi Dickson, said he was grateful that none of his players failed the medical checks and expressed his side’s readiness for the challenges of the upcoming domestic football season.
He said: “I am grateful that none of our players failed the medical examinations they underwent because their wellbeing is our topmost priority. These results are also a reflection of how fit, healthy and poised my boys are ahead of the new season”.
“I think we have had a very good pre-season programme. We resumed pretty early and have been very comfortable with our preparations especially so because of the support that His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom State has consistently extended to us.
“We have continued to enjoy the deep-rooted love of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Uko and all stakeholders of the beautiful game here in the state and we are ready to face the rigours of the new season in some style”, the retired Permanent Secretary added.
Dakkada who concluded their pre-season friendlies with a 2-0 win over NNL outfit, Ibom Youth, Friday, will be guests to Kwara United next Friday when the 2021/2022 NPFL season gets underway with Match Day One fixtures.
