Loss of sexual desire, weak erection, and inability to sustain an erection are different shades of what medical experts call Erectile Dysfunction (ED) in men. It affects men generally from the age of 40 plus, but is more common in middle age, according to doctors.
From my research, I was able to gather the causes of ED and its treatment. Below are some of the causes:
Performance Anxiety: Some men lose erection at the point of intercourse out of anxiety; sometimes, negative thoughts that cause fear, shame, or humiliation could make a man lose erection.
This may be purely psychological and should be dealt with. If this happens to you; just take a rest and banish such thoughts from your mind. Your erection would come back.
Diabetes: One of the causes of weak erection is diabetes. It is a disease that affects other organs like the eyes, heart, and because of its disruption of sugar balance in the body, it causes sexual dysfunction in men who have it. If well treated, those who suffer from diabetes could still enjoy healthy sex life,
Medicaments: Some drugs have side effects that affect sexual performance. Drugs used in the treatment of hypertension, for instance, could cause weak erection.
Poor Health: Prolong illness, according to doctors could result in sexual dysfunction, although it depends on the type of sickness and how it is managed.
Old Age: Many men lose vibrancy when they begin to advance in age. At middle age, the sex drive starts getting low; one may need a booster to enhance sexual performance. There’re now many drugs you could use to enhance sexual performance.
Fatigue: When one is tired or suffering from exhaustion, the libido could be adversely affected. In some cases, the sexual urge fades away and it is difficult to get an erection. In circumstances like this, one needs adequate rest, but to meet the sexual needs of your partner, you’ve to take an aphrodisiac to boost your sex drive.
Penis Size: It’s not true that size matters in sexual performance. Many men with smaller penis worry too much about size. However, although the average size of a penis when in full erection is about five (5) inches, some men have less and still enjoy sex.

Some are born with micro-penis. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. As men age, their penis begins to shrink and that’s normal. There’re lots of products in the open market that claim to enlarge or elongate the penis. Most of their products do not work.
Men with a smaller penis could suffer performance anxiety because of the thinking that it makes them feel less. This is not true. Sperm, not penis size, is what determines pregnancy. Even with a small penis of about three or four inches, someone could still enjoy sex.
