The national team coaches who mulled his last-minute exit from the side that went to the African Nation’s Cup, AFCON in Cameroon last month.
Osimhen, who was recovering from a face injury, tested positive at the last minute as Nigeria departed for AFCON and had to be dropped. Pundits say the final result would have been different if Osimhen had been in the squad.
Despite the slamming of the striker by top Italian media for his alleged below-par performance in his match against Serie A league leaders, Inter Milan, during their home match last Saturday, Nigerian Coaches would be happy to have him in the squad that would face perennial rivals, Ghana in the World Cup playoffs next month.
