By Don Peter Okoro
The Apostle of New Covenant of God Mission, Presiding Bishop of Masterseed College Of Bishops and Ministers Network and Founding Father of Masterseed Solidarity Movement, Archbishop Emmadavid Okafoagu JP has stated that the Group he is championing,is ready to produce the next Governor of Anambra State.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Don Peter Okoro over the weekend at his office, the highly celebral man of God said: ” The Masterseed Solidarity Movement is a Coalition of Churches. The Movement is blessed to have friends in the Anglican, the Catholic, Methodist, Sabbath and of course Pentecostal Churches. Friends in Farmers Groups, Civil Societies, and Cooperative Groups to join us because this time around,if God is willing,it is our intention to produce the next Governor of Anambra State”. Asked what efforts they have made towards achieving the goal, he replied:” We’ve had several meetings. We have also invited some Candidates like Val Ozigbo and Obiorah Agbasimalo and we are expecting some more Candidates before our October 7th National Convention where we will select the person we will vote for.
This time around, it’s no longer a question of praying for somebody and dismissing him to go and win. No, this time,we have to select and endorse a particular person, carry his banner, follow him to the field and campaign for him. We will equally be doing Prayer Rally for him. On the day of election, hundreds of thousands of our supporters and followers will come out enmass to vote for the man.”
On the message he is passing to the masses and electorates,he replied: “” We continue to advice the masses to desist from the idea that votes are not being counted or that the election will be hijacked. The fundamental thing is for people to do their own and leave God to do His own. Get your Voters Card and make sure you vote and your vote is counted, you can follow up to the Collation Centre and be part of the excercise”.
On the fear of voters apathy as a result of the insecurity occasioned by unknown gunmen,IPOB,ESN, and other security challenges, he called on the Federal Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. In his words:”The problem is not Anambra problem, but that of the Federal Government. Let them release Nnamdi Kanu to avoid people spending huge amount of money buying Nomination Form, campaigning heavily and at the end of the day the masses are not able to exercise their franchise and the entire process ends up in futility.
To avoid all this unnecessary confusion, let the Federal Government release Nnamdi Kanu for his people, so that we can carry out our exercise of voting peacefully.”
On his prayers and best wishes for Anambra State and Igboland, he offered: “Anambra State is a State made for God.Anambra State is where Revival and Pentecostal Movement started in the 1970s before it even moved to yoruba land. Being the first place God settled in Nigeria,I believe that God will save the State from the siege of deceitful men.
My prayer is that those in Top Government positions should listen to the masses and gauge the pulse of the people. The problem will not be solved by sending the Army or Police to attack the youths of Igboland. The problem can only be solved as soon as Nnamdi Kanu is released.”
