Nigerian-Born British Actress and Director, Kelechi Funmilayo Okafor has said their new Orphanage home which is about to come into the limelight will focus and cater for Nigerian children and Mothers who are having challenges.
She made this known on Friday while speaking to journalists at the groundbreaking ceremony of 20 rooms of Child of Light Children’s Home and Resource Centre.
The British actress said that the orphanage home is an innovation from her mother due to the passion she has right from her childhood days for catering for little children who do not have where to stay or people to cater for them.
The Actress said: “Child of Light Orphanage Home and Resource Centre is the brainchild of my mother. The Home will cater for children and women. Every child will be catered for whether he/she has a parent or not. They will be taken care of and also be given everything required to succeed and be a better person in life. The children will be sponsored to school, sheltered, and become whatever they want to be.
“Nobody should be denied of whatever he/ she wants to be in life. The resource center is to empowered the women by giving resources needed to take care of their children themselves.
“The resources center will give out napkins and things available will be given to people for free in other for them to have a better life”.
She also noted that they will be free workshops for people that want to learn anything.
On the issue of fundraising for the Orphanage home, the social commentator said that she would gather cash through colleagues, business associates, and members of the international community.

Also, through the same vision the mother of the British Actress, Mrs. Omowunmi Fasomi expressed her delight at the Orphanage Home’s establishment.
She said: “It has been one of the things I have a passion to do right from my childhood days to help the less privileged and cater for children that do not have parents in other for them not to suffer.
The inspiration came from God and how we have been pushing the dream, I cannot really say how we got here but God has been faithfully and also a special thanks to my daughter who has been very supportive. This is solely for the community because we intend to focus on and empower the immediate community. We shall cater for more children but we are starting with 20 kids”.
Also, during the Media chat, Jide Fasanmi praised the notion of the Child of Light Orphanage Initiative for helping the less privileged members of the society.
He also praised the mother of the initiative, Mrs. Omowunmi Fasomi for her vision right from time to always help the less privileged noting that she has loved to always give back to society for over 50 years, and now it’s coming to pass.
Fasanmi also urged all genuine Nigerians to join and support the humanitarian effort.
