Fear is a torment; it is a killer that consumes people around the world every day. There’re many things that trigger fear. Bills, health issues, financial challenges, relationship problems, etc.
There’re other kinds of fear like the fear of failure, animals like dogs, snakes, unforeseen circumstances, and worse of all, the fear of death. It’s inevitable that men should fear at some point; how you respond to fear and manage it is what counts.
Below are some tips on fear management:
- It’s inevitable that fear would come at you. How you respond to it determines how you deal with it per time. It all depends on you. You’re either poised to fight it or run away from the object of fear, or live with it and ignore it, if possible.
- You’ve to identify the object of your fear. If it’s lacking in an area, you must find how to provide to end that thing that you lack rather than do nothing and allow it to torture you. If your problem is financial difficulties, you’ve to come up with a strategy to get out of it. One way is to seek counsel or read a book on someone who overcomes a similar challenge.
- Some who are religious could pray for divine intervention and direction. This faith-based approach works for many people.
- You could run away from the object of fear. If you’re being tormented by a boss, colleague, or neighbour, quit the relationship outright to have your peace.
- You could confront your fear head-on and conquer it if it’s something that responds to such a practical approach. Bullies are dealt with this way.
- Another approach is to manage the situation, if it’s something complex you can’t do without it. This may be a relationship with your spouse, relative, or friends that you find important to have. Dialogue with whoever is getting you scared and let them see reason. It could be their approach that’s getting you on the edge. With wise diplomacy, you could get rid of your fears in this way.
- Master your fear. There’re some kinds of fear you’ve to master, like kids getting hurt, coping with wild folks in tough neighborhoods, etc. All you need to do is develop a thick skin and live with it.
