The much anticipated inauguration of ex-CBN Governor, Prof Charles Soludo of APGA, as the new Governor of Anambra State was almost marrIed by the uncouth behaviour of out-going First lady and wife of now ex-Governor, Willie Obiano, Elebechuckwu.
All through last week, the news of Ebele’s assault on Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, widow of former Biafran Warlord, late Emeka Ojukwu at the venue of the swearing-in ceremony, dominated the media, especially the online space.
It was initially reported that Ebele, who came late to the event, went to where Bianca was seated, and after a she told the Ambassador: “You said you won’t attend any APGA event, what are you doing here?”, gave her a slap. Another report claimed that it was Bianca who actually slapped Ebele and dragged her wig off.
Now, Bianca has come out to say she was the one who actually slapped Ebele in self-defence. Whatever the case may be, it cannot be denied that the former First Lady was the aggressor. Bianca claimed that Ebele was drunk, and so, wasn’t sure of what next she could do, after her aggressive behaviour and verbal violence, as well as her attempt to pull off her wig.
This incident revealed several ugly incidents involving Ebele and her opponents. True or false, she has been accused of having a hand in the untimely death of Willie Obiano’s first wife, when Ebele was the secretary to the former Governor in his previous work place before he ventured into politics. Ebele married Obiano when he lost his wife.
There’re reports of how the cruelty of the ex-First Lady, known for her ill temper and violent behaviour, allegedly led to the death of their maid. She reportedly insulted a prominent Anambra female law maker, Uche Ekwenife, when on a visit to Poland with former First Lady, Patience Jonathan. She’s known for her knack for calling her female “enemies” prostitutes and using other unprintable words on them when she’s angry
Many are wondering how Willie Obiano is coping with a cantankerous woman like Ebele, especially since the ex-Governor is on the quiet side. Unfortunately, this public show of shame took the shine off Soludo’s inauguration and the positive reviews Ebele’s husband was getting for his 8-year tenure as Anambra Governor.
