The Archbishop of New Covenant of God Mission and Presiding Bishop of Masterseed College of Bishops and Ministers Network,USA and Nigeria, Archbishop ( Prof.) Emmadavid Okafoagu JP2 has said that he will sorely and surely miss his beloved wife of over 50years who laid to rest last week Friday the 17th of June 2022 at his Archbishop’s Court, Obiagu Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Speaking about his wife, he said: “My wife married me as a Palm Wine Tapper. When she married me,I had nothing. She brought me up to the standard that I am today. Though people may see me to be simple and small, but I am big and she is the one that made me to be big today.”.
On what he would miss most about her, he replied: “I have been thinking of how I will cope since she left. My wife knew what I needed at every point in time. I don’t beg for food,I don’t beg for sex. I don’t beg to be pampered and she doesn’t make things difficult for me.
I have many children and because I work a lot, she is the one that takes good care of all the children, so that they don’t disturb me. Let me just stay and see what will happen next. “. On what the family would do to immortalize her, he offered: ” We already have a Foundation for caring. She is the one that takes care of all my visitors both from Nigeria and abroad.
Even Don Peter Okoro and all of them that come around knew my wife and can testify that she was a mother to all. She knew how to handle all my weaknesses. My weaknesses are her strength. I will continue with her legacy of taking care of people. “. Also Speaking the first son of the family, Evang Okafoagu Emmanuel Jnr. said that there can never be any woman like her that still exists. In his words: ” The reason I said so is because it is not easy to see a woman who believes that her husband is infallible.
Anything that the husband does is right in her eyes.I don’t think that kind of woman can still be found anywhere in the world..”. On what he would miss about her he replied: ” She is a woman of prayers. She prays in the morning,in the afternoon,in the evening and in the night. She is always in the mood of prayers. She is very selfless and devoted.
She is someone who even if the family has little to eat is ready to give out that little to a visitor or total stranger. She believes in taking care of Visitors and Strangers.”.
On her part, a close friend of the family, Woman Bishop Nkoli Okeke who is a popular Gospel Music Artiste and Author has this to say.” I am here to commisserate with the Okafoagu Family over the passage of their beloved wife and mother, Bishop Bridget Eagle Okafoagu. She is a very good and compassionate woman. During the last programme they had, she accommodated me for two days and we really had a good time together.
My condolence message to them is that they should not weep like unbelievers who have no hope, but should rejoice, because death is not the end. Death is victory, because one day all of us are going to meet at the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
