Banyana Banyana co-captain, Andile Dlamini, has said the team is battle-ready for today’s Group C opener against holders Super Falcons of Nigeria at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
The encounter is billed for the Moulay Hassan Stadium, Rabat.
Banyana Banyana have played in the final of the WAFCON five times and lost all.
Their recent defeat came in the final four years ago in Ghana.
The last time the two sides met was in September 2021 in the inaugural Aisha Buhari Cup where Desiree Ellis’ charges were crowned champions following a convincing 4-2 victory.
Dlamini is upbeat they can repeat that performance once again.
“As players, we are extremely excited about our match, it won’t be easy but we are confident our technical team has done enough homework and its now up to us to do our best in the field of play,” Dlamini told reporters.
