Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag will receive up to £100 million to bring in players if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves in the January transfer window, The Sun reports.
United spent £225m on new signings this summer, with Antony and Lisandro Martinez coming in from Ajax, as well as Casemiro from Real Madrid.
Ten Hag is set to receive £70m for transfers in the winter window, but this could increase to £100m if Ronaldo leaves.
The 37-year-old is still intent on leaving Old Trafford and had been linked with numerous clubs during the summer.
With Ronaldo earning £450,000 a week, his departure would afford the Red Devils an extra £30m to invest in the side.
Ten Hag could reignite his interest in Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong after a deal collapsed this summer.
The 25-year-old Netherlands midfielder’s future remains uncertain at Camp Nou, as he has started only two games under Xavi Hernandez in LaLiga this season.
