UEFA includes Alexander-Arnold, Mane, others in Champions League team
UEFA on Thursday included Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane and Chelsea’s Reece James in the Champions League team of this week.
UEFA released the Champions League team in a post on its website today after the group stage match-day three fixtures concluded on Wednesday night.
Alexander-Arnold, Mane and James were impressive for their respective clubs against Rangers, Viktoria Plzen and AC Milan.
Super Eagles drop in latest FIFA ranking
Nigeria’s Super Eagles dropped two places in the latest men’s ranking released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday.
The latest ranking was published on FIFA’s official website.
The West Africans are now ranked 32nd in the world.
The Super Eagles fell to a 2-1 defeat to the Desert Foxes of Algeria in their only game in September.
Ballon d’Or 2022: Sadio Mane names player to win award
Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mane, has said Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema should win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Mane is also in the running for the prize, as he enjoyed an impressive season last term with Liverpool.
The Senegalese won two domestic cups with the Reds, while finishing second in the Premier League and receiving a runners-up medal in the Champions League.
