Nigeria and Africa’s largest football academy, KIFA, has congratulated ex-Super Eagles and Arsenal star player, Nwankwo Kanu on his appointment as the Chairman of Enyimba International FC, by Governor Alex Otti.
The former African player of the year and 1996 Olympic Games gold medallist, replaces Felix Anyansi-Agwu who held the position for 24 years.
In the congratulatory message signed by the Director-General of KIFA, Prince Dapo Ajibade, a former Executive Chairman of Ondo State Football Agency, described the appointment of Kanu, as a wise and proper decision by the Governor of Abia state. Adding that it would boost the fortunes of the team and make it a stronger force once again in global football.
“The appointment of King Nwankwo Kanu is a very pleasant and well-thought decision by Governor Otti. We know Kanu’s antecedents as a global football star and we believe he would bring his vast goodwill and knowledge in the game to positively bear on the fortunes of the team and Nigerian football.
“On behalf of all the players, coaches and leadership of KIFA, I say a big congratulations to King Nwankwo Kanu, who is also the chairman of KIFA on his well deserved appointment. And I pray that God in His infinite mercies would grant him the strength, wisdom and needed wherewithal to discharge this onerous duties to the benefits of the team and Nigerian football,” Ajibade, added conclusively.
