The Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Governorship election in Anambra State,Barr. Emeka Okafor has called on Anambrarians to vote wisely, by massively voting for the APC, so as to align with the ruling Political Party at the National level. He made this clear during an exclusive interview with the Editor of Vintage Newspapers, Don Peter Okoro at his country home in Nnobi, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.
Barr Emeka Okafor,a Lawyer who has spent over 30 years at the Bar was asked to state what he would tell his people,if asked to address them. He replied: “We will keep on giving them the message that they should come and join APC, so that we can align with the centre. So that we can get faster the dividends of democracy. If you don’t stay on the same table where they are sharing things, you cannot get your own share and we are going to that table and we’ll make sure we get our rightful share, that’s our message. People should come out enmass to vote for APC on the 6th of November 2021. When they do that, other things will fall in line. Secondly, they should keep their Personal Voters Card and make sure nobody buys their votes, because when you sell your vote, you don’t have any right to question the person representing you. They should guard their PVC jealousy, because that is their Right and their Power to make the needed change “.
Earlier, in the interview, Barr. Emeka Okafor, who hails from the very prominent and highly respected OKAFOR FAMILY of Nnobi, was asked how he feels being bestowed with such a high and exalted position and responsibility of a Deputy Governorship Candidate, he answered: “”I feel very elated and I give the Almighty God all the thanks and glory for putting us in this position to be able to change things for our people and see how we can move the state forward, create wealth for our people and eradicate poverty. This is partof our mission.”
The Deputy Governorship Candidate who is very optimistic of the success of the APC at the polls pointed out that they don’t want Anambra State to continue playing Regional Politics.
In his words: “”We want to share in the dividends of democracy which has been deluding us all for a while and make sure that infrastructure which has decayed are resuscitated and revitalized. We want to run an inclusive Government and put everyone on board. As you can see from what is going on,we are running a Coalition Campaign. People are coming from different Political Parties and Groups to join us and that is the kind of Government we want to run.
So,we are involved in an inclusive strategic process. We are bringing all the aggrieved people together, both at the State and National levels. And we are making progress. We have our internal mechanism through which we deal with our internal affairs. We are using the Party’s Internal structures to work out things and we are doing very well”.
On his major fears for the Party, he replied: “I don’t think there is any fear whether major or minor. The Party is set for the election and we are looking up to INEC, because INEC is the Arbiter. We look up to them to conduct a free and fair election and we are ready for this election. I don’t think we are entertaining any fears. If we have any fears, I will let you know”.
