Well-known Senior Citizen, Business Guru, Respected Philanthropist and Chairman of Marble Arch Hotel among other flourishing Businesses,Chief Sam Okey Nwosu, (Nwakaibeya ) has posited that Senator Dr. Andy Uba is the most competent and best Candidate for the position of Governor in the forthcoming election in Anambra State. He made this clear during an Interactive Session with a select group of Journalists from renowned and respected Media Houses last week at his Marble Arch Hotel Awka.
In the course of the interview, he was asked to speak on the person of Senator Andy Uba, Chief Nwosu replied: “Distinguished Senator Dr Andy Uba has been the most misunderstood Leader in Igboland. The most maligned and the most disrespected, because he doesn’t talk much.All the while he was with the former President,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, he remained quiet.He has always been a quiet person. He doesn’t know how to shout and do all this showmanship,as a result they have given him all kinds of allegations. Let me give you one for example. There was a hotel that used to exist in Awka here called Ikenga Hotels, owned by the Anambra State Government. There was a rumour flying around that in the 17 days he was Governor, that he sold Ikenga hotel.
The question I want to ask everyone is, is 17 days enough for somebody to buy a huge hotel like that? I am into Real Estate and I know what I’m talking about. Are you not going to evaluate the property before buying? Are you not going to do some background checks?. And suddenly they said he sold it under 17 days. How could he have done that? At last it was found out that the man was innocent.
The other time they said they burnt down Anambra State. I can tell you what happened at that time. The Ubas did not burn Anambra State. Everything that was happening in Anambra State was happening from this very spot we are seated.I was called by the then Governor who asked: ” Why are you allowing those people to hold meeting in your hotel?” I said well this is a business place, there are so many Policemen here and I don’t want them to kill anybody here.He said: ” take them out.” I said that is not going to be possible. This is the gospel truth. So when they say the Ubas burnt Anambra State, it’s a lie. They didn’t because I was an Insider. Those people also put fire on this hotel,then this place was a thatched hut,a Bush Bar. If not for the water in the Swimming pool,they would have set this place on fire that same day. That was the day they burnt the gate of the Government House and destroyed some things and said the Ubas did it.Please they didn’t.
PDP members led by Chief Chris Uba and the then Chairman of the Party were holding the meeting at the pool side on the day of the burning. They were the ones that entered the pool to get water to extinguish the fire How can you burn yourself?.It was just a political move to garner sympathy and unfortunately they succeeded.So when you talk about His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Dr Andy Uba, you need to get close to the man. He is very accessible.He is highly intelligent.
He understands how to run a system.He learnt from the best who is OBJ. How do we now throw away this type of quality based on fallacies, based on allegations and accusations? Or are we going to throw away this kind of quality based on Buhari does not love Ndi Anambra? Or are we going to throw away this quality based on wrong belief that APC is not our party?
Meanwhile, all the APC structures in Anambra State from Unit to Ward to LGAs to State levels are populated by our own people, Anambrarians.How do you now say it is not our party? And what is APC and PDP by the way?
They are mere nomenclatures. What we should be looking at is the quality of the person that will be coming out to run our Government for us. Who is in the best position to access our share from the center? If you are not in the center because you are doing one Regional Party politcs or the other, you can never have a share. So, I call on all Anambrarians to put sentiments aside and embrace APC by voting massively for Distinguished Senator Dr Andy Uba come November 6th 2021″.
