As we progress in our earthly sojourn, from time to time, new knowledge becomes available to us through the work of other individuals or groups of people.
This is what my work and trainings on the broad principles of the concept of Mindshift and its applications to every aspect of life and business represents and exemplifies.
Mindshift is the appropriation of new information, [knowledge], to birth new thinking that leads to new attitudes and therefore new directions and actions which result in new and better results or outputs.
Taking this definition and super-imposing it on the Nigerian situation, it becomes very obvious that Nigeria as a socio-economic and political entity needs Mindshift now more than she has ever needed anything else.
The attitudinal changes that we require as a collective to move us in the direction of the great nation that we are destined to be will only occur when we accept the need for our thought patterns to be revamped by the digestion of new knowledge to birth new thinking and attitudes leading to new ways of addressing the Nigerian debacle. We have danced around the issues fruitlessly for long enough.
In my book Mindshift which was published in the year 2017, I stated that the individual in every community must learn to see themselves as an integral part of a bigger picture for them to be able to impact society effectively. Selfishness across board and the attitude of the end justifying the means has become the bane of our society and the underlying cause of the corruption prevalent in our country.
A cursory look into any sphere of Nigerian life, both in the homes and organizations reveals a departure from the moral values that we embraced hitherto and a predisposition to decadence. All of these vices openly displayed across our land are results of new thinking patterns that are retrogressive and self defeating.
Through the principles of Mindshift we have a new opportunity to learn new thinking patterns that are based on new knowledge that can open up new directions for us as a nation. We can choose to be a different culture or people from what we see of our society today. The difference between two people in terms of their mindset and worldview lies in the way they think after all.
