AM I WELL?
That’s the question every person should ask themselves.
More often than not, we ask each other how we are and without even giving it thought, we just say we are fine on auto-mode, but the question is; ‘”are we really fine? Are we really well? How am I feeling in my body? Am I in good health? When last was I in the hospital to do a medical check? Were the results good or not so good? What do I need to improve on? Do I need to change my diet? Do I need to drink more water? Do I need to eat more fruits and green leafy vegetables? Do I need to cut out fizzy drinks or caffeine? Am I sedentary? Do I need to move about more? Do I need a change of lifestyle and exercise more often? Do I need to sleep better? How is my sleep? When do I go to bed? How much sleep do I really need? Am I feeling lethargic? Am I feeling down or low or depressed? Am I excited or overexcited? Am I anxious? Am I angry? Am I bitter? Am I joyful? Am I happy?
These are vital questions we need to think about and have answers to, so that when someone asks how we are, we can categorically answer without a shadow of doubt that we are well, or maybe not so well.
The crux of the matter is that our physical state of health, psychological and mental well-being determines our outlook to life, how we cope with daily challenges and how we take care of our bodies, making deliberate efforts in the right direction to a happier, healthier and complete life.
When we take care of ourselves, it shows. You radiate. You look good. You feel good. You feel alive. You feel healthy. Who doesn’t want to have that? Who doesn’t want to feel that way?
How consistent are we when it comes to looking after ourselves? Consistency is key. You can’t start and don’t follow through. You have to be committed to yourself. You have to be accountable. You have to be deliberate in your choices. We can then live our lives to the fullest when we attain all round wellness. We are able to make healthy choices when it comes to the food we eat, what we drink, and even what goes on our skin.
Did you know that what you put on your skin goes into your blood stream, and then travels through your body? Your heart pumps the blood and it keeps circulating through your entire body. Your liver filters out the toxins that is why you should be very vigilant about the kind of products you put on your skin.
Did you also know that anything that changes your skin colour can in turn damage your liver?
Choose clean beauty. Products without chemicals or nasty parabens. Natural, organic products or products that are pharmaceutical grade, which have been tested and clinically proven to work. Please note that natural products can contain chemicals but that is not the case with organic products. The term ‘’organic’’ refers to how an ingredient is farmed, that is, it must be prepared and grown without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMO’S, sulphates or parabens or anti-biotics. However, just because a product is labelled ‘’organic’’ doesn’t mean it is 100% organic. ‘’Natural’’ products are products that are derived from plant, mineral or animal by-products.
Being and staying beautiful is not just what you scratch on the surface. Its deep. Its holistic. Its therapeutic. Its life.
Do you choose to live?
Food for thought.
