Manchester United squad is now divided over the arrest of Mason Greenwood on suspicion of rape and assault, according to The Sun.
The report says that while some players are not ready to ostracise the 19-year-old England international until he is proven guilty, some have already unfollowed him on social media.
Greenwood was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting and raping a lady as well as threat to to life.
The England youngster was then released on bail pending further investigation on Wednesday, having spent three nights in prison and is yet to be charged.
Some of his Manchester United teammates were shocked and appalled by photos and audio posted online that allegedly detailed his abuse but some are not ready to cut him adrift just yet.
The newspaper reports that some senior players in the squad feel it is wrong to ostracise the player until he is proven guilty of the crimes he has been accused of.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Victor Lindelof have all unfollowed Greenwood on social media while others are pressured to do so.
A source told The Sun that it is causing a rift in the squad, saying “One player in particular is furious about it. He feels that ditching Mason shows they are not together.
“If Mason is convicted of what he has been accused of, then clearly all the players will be horrified. But the police haven’t even decided if they have enough evidence to charge him or not yet.
“Some of those closest to him feel the course of justice should be allowed to run.”
