The Household of God Church led by the iconic and enigmatic Revd. Chris Okotie celebrated their 35th year of ministry on the 1st of February, 2022.
And it has become the tradition of the church, the anniversary was celebrated with a lot of singing and dancing by the pastor himself and of course, with the members and guests in concert. The singing was interspersed with a walk down memory lane as the Reverend gentleman rehearsed to the congregation the various events and experiences that he, as a person and the ministry has gone through in the last three and a half decades.
In particular, Reverend Okotie once again recounted how he had to write songs to be sung in the church basically because he had come out of show business without a church-going background and had ended up being called to start the church, a very short time after his return from Bible school in the United States. He, therefore, did not know the church choruses sang in most churches in praise and worship sessions and he turned to his music writing and arranging talent to cover for the obvious deficiency.
As such, the multi-talented minister has written close to two hundred bible-based songs in different genres of musical expression which has become the peculiar and preferred songs for praise and worship in the church. He also highlighted the fact that some of the popular songs sung in most churches today are songs written by him that have become very popular in Christian circles with most people not knowing that he wrote those songs.

The congregation was also admonished by Reverend Okotie to keep their individual focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and to stay committed to the calling of God in their lives and as parts of the ministry of the church. He emphasized the need for people to avoid offenses, which is a very potent weapon of Satan in causing divisions and dissensions in every form of human relationship possible, whether they are in the areas of church membership, marriage, business partnerships, or even workplace relationships. He enjoined the church members and guests to embrace forgiveness and to rededicate themselves to a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, especially in this relatively new year for their lives to have meaningful impacts on society.
The church was also encouraged to remain very prayerful for our country Nigeria as they were reminded that the church, The Household of God, was set up by Jesus Christ for a special and specific work in our nation that will soon come to pass.
The celebration of the 35th anniversary of the church will continue all through the month of February and will culminate in a grand celebration on the last Sunday of the month.
We at BEATS rejoice and celebrate with Reverend Chris Okotie and the entire body of the Household of God Church and its various ministries.
