Taraba State Governor, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku on Saturday called on Christians to pray for politicians in the state as preparations for campaigns for the 2023 elections gathers momentum.
Speaking in Takum, Taraba State at this year’s version of Bethel, an annual religious programme of the Christian Reformed Church in Nigeria CRC-N, Gov Ishaku said the state and the entire country was at a critical point of their political journey into a new dispensation and would require prayers towards a smooth transition.
“Very soon campaigns for the selection of candidates to vie for various Political offices will kick off and we will require prayers by all religious groups for a peaceful process.”
This year’s Bethel which saw a gathering of over 10,000 congregants was an opportunity for Ishaku to also preach peace among various communities in the state. He reminded them that there’s alternative to peace in any human society which wants development and called on all ethnic groups and communities in the state to seek peace with their neighbours always.
He said his administration has done a lot to ameliorate the sufferings of the people through the development of infrastructure and the empowerment of women and youths.
He assured that the welfare of the people remains a priority for his administration and that the government Will continue in its determination to meet the aspirations of the people until its last day in office.
