Music Star, Jide Obi, best known for his hit albums, Front Page News and Kill Me With Love, in the mid-80s, has broken his silence after about 30 years off the scene.
Jide, who shared the spotlight back then with Pop Star Chris Okotie and Loverboy, Felix Leberty of Ifeoma fame, during a period regarded by many as the “Golden ‘80s” of the music industry, retired surprisingly after two riveting albums and went to live in the United States of America.
In an exclusive interview to be published soon in BEATS, the singer was asked to access the current music scene: “I don’t follow the music scene now, because I’m old. But I love Fall by King Davido. You should hear the NY Saxophone version of that thing. Davido is a boy genius.
It’s doubtful if they ever met. Jide is obviously an admirer of the Nigerian superstar, whose career is certainly on the rise with megabucks income from sold-out concerts and endorsements.
