Popular Gospel Music Artiste and Author, Ike Okeke, who was a bosom friend and contemporary of the late Osinachi Nwachukwu, has revealed that she severally warned the deceased Gospel Singer to do something sensible by getting out of such an abusive marriage.
Speaking with Beatsinfotainment.com South East Editor, Don Peter Okoro in Nnewi Anambra State, Ike Okeke who is also a Woman Bishop said:
“We have been friends over the years and our last meeting was during last year’s Annual Gilgal Conference. As friends, she confided in me about what she was passing through in her marriage and I advised her accordingly, because I was once a victim of domestic violence in my marriage, before I was delivered from such a toxic relationship.
So, when I received the sad news, I was shocked and devastated. I immediately called a mutual friend of ours in Onitsha who confirmed the news and hours later, the news flooded the Internet. Since then, I’ve been in shock.I advised her to get out of that marriage so that she doesn’t get killed, but she said divorce is against the tenet of her church’s doctrine, and now the worst has happened. She kept on telling me that she was tired of the marriage, but there was no way to come out.”.
In her words of advice to other women who are passing through a similar situation, she replied: “I advise them to please go back to their father’s house because there is no marriage in heaven. Instead of dying an untimely death in the hands of an unscrupulous husband, it is better you go back to your father’s house and remain alive for your children. Alternatively, you can rent a separate apartment and move in with the children and see if there will be any changes. If not, run for your dear life. Life has no duplicate.”
