The Shepherd Superintendent of the Household of God Church, Oregun, Lagos, Rev. Chris Okotie has condemned the current spate of ritual killings across the country.
During a question and answer session in his church penultimate Sunday, the cleric explained the reasons for ritual killings, noting that there’s usually an upsurge in such crimes in election seasons.
He quoted the Bible to support his claim that the crucifixion of Jesus to redeem the sin of mankind was the first ritual.
He argued that Satan usually imitates God, which is why everything he does is a perversion of what the Almighty God does.
He said, since Jesus was crucified to redeem man, the devil also kills people as a ritual for something valuable.
Quoting the Bible book of Revelation 5:12,’ Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, honour, and glory, and blessing,’ Okotie said the devil also gives any of these great gifts by demanding human blood sacrifice.
He said, anyone desirous of power, riches, or anything from the devil must be ready to spill human blood through ritual killings.
However, God has already made Jesus the sacrificial Lamb for any of these blessings, according to the Pastor.
His sermon dealt with many of the existential problems facing mankind and urged Christians to be steadfast and prayerful.
