The Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) Candidate for Nnewi North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Sir Clement Eloka Ikeh has posited that if voted into power, he will not just represent the interest of the indigenes of Nnewi alone, but will equally represent the interest of all residents of Nnewi irrespective of where they come from.
He made this clear last week when he came to pay his condolences to Archbishop Emmadavid Okafoagu whose wife was being interred on that day at Obiagu Uruagu Nnewi.
Asked what gives him the confidence that he would be the next Lawmaker to represent Nnewi North, he replied:”Looking around,I have weighed my capacity and my capabilities and the trust we have in the people and I know that my people are behind me. This is what gives me my greatest joy.I know that I am a very serious-minded person and I always succeed in whatever I do.”.
On his chances at the polls knowing full well that APGA is the ruling Party in Anambra State, he answered: “If you look at Nigeria today, the Party at the helm of affairs is APC, that does not mean that Anambra State does not stand, Anambra stands. APGA is the ruling Party in Anambra State and the Party has been there for years and I’ve not seen any major impact they have made. For me, being in the opposition Party is the best because we need something new. That is why I captioned my own: IFEDICHE Nnewi. We want to bring something new to Nnewi and Anambra State this time around.”
On some of the new things he wants to introduce, he offered: “As far as you are living in this Nnewi Constituency, whether you are from Nnewi or not from Nnewi, I am going to represent you and make sure your interest is adequately taken care of. I am going to work for you and that is the IFEDICHE there. I am for everybody living in Nnewi and I know that as far as attracting or developing quality projects are concerned, you will see something different, because I know I have the necessary contacts and connections. Also, I will be having constant consultations with my people. Whatever I am doing, I’ll have to come back to report to them and have Town Hall meetings with them to find out if I am doing it right or not.”
On his antecedents, he answered that he has been the Past President of Rotary Club International, Nnewi Central. He has also been a Road Safety Marshall of the FRSC where he has made a lot of impacts. And he is presently the Vice Chairman of Akaboezem Uruagu Nnewi Community, where they have introduced a lot of innovations like Security Streetlight, Security Gates, New Roads, and Standard Culverts, and most importantly, absolute peace in the community.
