EPL: Chelsea owner, Boehly set for talks with £30m striker

Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly, will discuss striker Armando Broja’s future at the club amid interest from Premier League clubs, Daily Mail reports.

The likes of West Ham, Everton and Newcastle have enquired about Broja and are currently waiting for an answer.

Boehly is set for talks with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to determine whether the Albanian star is part of his plans for the upcoming season.

Broja enjoyed his breakthrough season in English football last year.

EPL: He has great fighting spirit – Van Persie on Manchester United’s latest signing

Former Manchester United star, Robin van Persie, has heaped praise on the club’s latest new signing, Tyrell Malacia.

Van Persie said Malacia is a huge talent, adding that the 22-year-old has a great fighting spirit.

Malacia became Erik ten Hag’s first signing as Manchester United manager on Tuesday.

The full-back joined the Red Devils on a four-year deal from Feyenoord with the option for another year.

Transfer: Nunes in shock move to Chelsea
Sporting Lisbon midfielder, Matheus Nunes, is set for a shock move to Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea is ready to make their first signing of the Todd Boehly era by pressing ahead with a £43 million offer for Nunes.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Chelsea is ready to ‘attack’ the market and make an offer for the 23-year-old this summer.

The Blues plan to offer around £39 million for Nunes, plus an additional £4 million in add-ons.

WAFCON: Bring on Monday, angry fans tell Waldrum
Following Falcons’ 2-1 defeat to South Africa on Monday at the ongoing 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat, Morocco, fans have taken to social media to tell coach Randy Waldrum to play Robo Queens forward Gift Monday in their subsequent Group C games.

A number of fans also went on to say that Waldrum should look towards the more energetic home-based players, instead of being distracted by the hype around the overseas-based players.

Two quick second-half goals from Jermaine Seoposenwe and Hilda Magaia in two minutes handed the South Africans the lead.

A 92nd-minute goal by striker Rasheedat Ajibade proved a mere consolation, as Banyana claimed their third win in their last four meetings with the Falcons.

Boxing: Joshua blames team for Usyk loss
Ex-heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has admitted he thought he was winning in his first fight against Oleksandr Usyk because his team didn’t give him information that pointed otherwise.

This led to AJ’s decision to cut ties with Rob McCracken and the rest of his training team after they failed to tell him he was losing to Usyk.

AJ was outmatched over 12 rounds last September at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and immediately after the bout, his corner work was questioned.

Joshua, 32, surprisingly chose to try and outbox Usyk, 35, and never reverted to a Plan B as the fight went away from him.

Galtier replaces sacked Pochettino at PSG
Christophe Galtier said he was ready to impose himself on Paris Saint-Germain’s dressing room of superstars after being appointed as the club’s new coach yesterday to replace the sacked Mauricio Pochettino.

Galtier, who left PSG’s Ligue 1 rivals Nice last month, has signed a two-year deal at the Parc des Princes with the French champions confirming the appointment shortly after announcing Pochettino’s departure.

“Yes, I am emotional, yes I am proud,” Galtier said at a press conference in the French capital. “I realise full well the responsibility that has been given to me but I have prepared for this. I wouldn’t have accepted this job if I didn’t think I was capable of it.”
