How do you begin to pay tribute to Richard Mofe-Damijo, Nollywood’s most celebrated male thespian?
Actor, journalist, one-time civil servant, businessman, model, sex symbol, and the very epitome of the Nigerian screen hero.
RMD has seen it all at 61. He lost his wife, the famous celebrity journalist, EE, remarried, to another celebrity, the On Air Personality, Jumobi, and went on with his life, scaling new heights.
What has made him relevant is that RMD started with TV soaps, was one of the pioneer actors who built Nollywood, and has endured as one of Nigeria’s top actors from the golden age of the industry.
If we have a Nollywood Hall of Fame, RMD should rightly be there with other denizens like Olu Jacobs, Taiwo- Ajai Laicet, etc.
Happy birthday,bros.
