The Supreme Leader of the Yahudim Religion,Cohen Gadol Nabbinuh Mosheh has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria and other relevant authorities including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to shift the day of election from Saturdays and also shift the day of other important programs like: Census, Examinations, Matriculations, Convocations, Cleanup exercises and others from Saturday to any other day of the week.
He made this call in the 4th of September 2022 at the Children of Yahweh Covenant Mission Abubor Nnewichi Nnewi, when the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Party ( ADC) for Abia State in the forthcoming election, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha visited Leaders of the Yahudim Religion from the South East Geo-political Zone.
He urged the Bishop who is a National Faith Leader to add his voice and throw his weight behind the agitation over the use of Shabbat day ( Saturday) for elections and other important Government programs, in order not to dis-enfrachise Yahudim Followers across the country any longer.
He said it is unfair to deny the over forty million Yahudim Worshipers in the country their rights to vote. Responding, the ADC Governorship Candidate Dr. Sunday Onuoha said he still stood by what he said before when they visited him in Umuahia Abia State that as soon as he becomes the Governor of the state, their interest will be comprehensively taken care of.
He said that the reason why their voices have not been heard by the authorities is because the” door” has not yet been opened for them. He said once the door is opened and an Advocacy is in place, their concerns will be adequately addressed.
He called on them to work for his emergence as the next Governor of Abia State so that a Model could be enacted for other states to emulate. Concerning his Gubernatorial aspirations,Dr. Onuoha was asked how he would contend with other mega Parties like APC and PDP, he replied:”Well Nigerians have decided to vote for individuals.
Nigerians are tired of political parties, The time has come for Nigerians to show the world that it is time to vote for people that can lead them. That is where we are now as a people”. On why he is coming into politics when other Religious Leaders are shying away, he responded:”
The truth is that the Faith Leaders have seen the mistakes they made in the past and have woken up. The time has come for Religious Leaders to take the bull by the horns in order to transform the Nigerian Society.”. In his part the Bishop of Children of Yahweh Covenant Mission Bishop Martins Ozonnamalu has this to say when asked why they invited a Methodist Bishop, he answered,: ”
Yahudim Religion does not believe in discrimination. He wanted us and we visited him; we have now invited him to hear from him and for him to respond to our previous visit.We want someone that will give Nigeria what she deserves.
Everybody is tired in Nigeria and we are in the last dispensation. We know that for God to do it,He need to hear the prayers of His people, so that the evil ones will no longer be on the throne. The Book of Proverbs says that when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice, but when the wicked bear rule the people groan. We need righteous people to be on the throne.”. On the purpose of the meeting,he said: “The purpose of the meeting Is for the National Leaders of Yahudim to interact and receive the courtesy visit of the Bishop that came. We have visited him, so he came to give us the reply to the visit we made to him. Thank you”
