It was a success galore all the way, as St. Andrew’s DCC Nkwo Nnewi hosted the 27th Diocesan Women Conference Of the Nnewi Anglican Communion, which took place from Thursday, the 6th, of October 2022 to Sunday, the 9th, of October 2022, with the reading of the Presidential Address on Saturday, the 8th of October 2022. In her Presidential Address, the Wife of the Bishop,Mrs. Ukamaka Zipporah Obi started by greeting all in the name of Jesus the Saviour and keeper, who by His grace, protection, mercy and love did not allow them to be consumed by all the happenings in and around the Diocese, the State and the Nation.

She equally thanked her husband, The Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Obi, the Bishop of Anglican Diocese Of Nnewi. Analyzing the Theme of the Conference: “Understanding The Times”, the Bishop’s wife stated that: ” Issachar being a product of hire between his mother and her sister Rachael with his brother Mandrake (Genesis 30:14) understood from birth that time is precious and timing a necessary commodity.

Had it been that his mother as a woman wasn’t well articulated in her time,Issachar wouldn’t have been born. His mother was timely in hiring conception. History has it that the descendants of Issachar were Scholars.”

She also touched other areas including the State of the Nation. In his comment, the Vicar of the Host Church, Venerable Chiadikobi Levi Emmanuel has this to say: ” St. Andrew’s DCC hosted the Nnewi Diocesan Women Conference and the Wife of the Bishop,Mrs. Ukamaka Zipporah Obi has just read her Presidential Address with the Theme: ” Understanding The Times.” On what he understood from her address, he replied: ” We are at the end of time and some events are quite remarkable, because this is the time that we are expecting the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since that is true, then, we ought to be more conscious of the way we live our lives.”

On his message to the Diocesan Women, he offered: “A lot of Preachers were invited and they preached on the Conference Theme. My advice is that they should go back home and practice what they have learnt. God is by this Conference calling on the Diocesan Women and every woman in the world into repentance, so that if Jesus comes today, it won’t take anyone by surprise.”

Asked to assess the program, he replied: “The Lord is on the Throne. People came out in huge number and had a peaceful and wonderful conference and the weather was very clement. “. Also speaking,a highly respected Legal Practitioner and Notable Networker, Barr. Emmanuella Obi from Okofia, Otolo, Nnewi, representing Otolo Central Archdeaconry, who is not just a representative from Otolo Archdeaconry, but also an Event Lady, has this to say: ” We are here to celebrate with our Mummy, the wife of the Bishop, Mummy Ukamaka Zipporah Obi. In her Presidential Address, she touched a lot of things: the State of the Nation, the ASUU Strike, Insecurity, the forthcoming election and so on. A lot of people came from different Dioceses within the country to come and celebrate with her. She is a wonderful woman of God and a God fearing daughter of Zion.”

The highlight of the Event was the presence of Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was expressed his felicitations and Congratulations to the women and made huge donations towards the different projects the women are involved in. At the end, the Senator made a combined donation of over 11 Million Naira on the spot both in Cash and Cheque. Indeed it was a very successful outing and we look forward to that of the coming years.
