Nigerian Heavyweight Boxer Annonces Return With Big Knockout In an intriguing move that has buzzed the professional boxing world, the Nigerian born United States Based former USA State of Wisconsin and Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) International Heavyweight boxing champion, Mr Enobong Umohette whose boxing alias is The Nigerian Gentleman over the weekend on Saturday 22nd, October 2022, made a surprise return to professional boxing after an almost 8-year retirement from the sports.

In what boxing analysts considered a tough test, Umohette took on Toledo Ohio’s hard hitting pugilist William ‘Billy’ Myers at the City of Ashland in the State of Kentucky.

Umohette who stunned the boxing community with a remarkable performance won the contest against the Ohio pugilist by a Knock out in the 3rd round to secure his 10th professional career win.

Speaking from his Wisconsin, United States base, Umohette thanked God for the victory and thanked God for giving him the opportunity to inspire athletes both young and older, with the capacity to withstand grueling months of high intensity training that affirmed his fitness to compete once again even at the highest levels, as he had done prior to his 2015 retirement.

The Nigerian Gentleman was led into battle by his team which consisted of his manager Rhonda Yates,  veteran boxing coaches Richard Mason and Fred LeGrandier, veteran heavyweight Boxing champion Jeremiah “The beast” Williams, while promoter Erik Flemming and Head boxing Coach George Offiong monitored proceedings remotely.

Reacting to the victory, Umohette thanked the Almighty God, his family, fans and supporters for being on this incredible journey with him and pledged to stay as busy as possible in the ring.

Responding to questions about Umohette’s almost 8 year hiatus, vis a vis his surprise return, head boxing coach Goerge Offiong stated that Umohette was put through the most rigorous routine of health, medical and physical training tests and by far exceeded all benchmarks in endurance, speed, power, reflex, craft, ring generalship, techniques, tactics and stamina during a training camp that lasted several  months.

Re-emerging on the professional boxing scene, it is interesting to see what Umohette’s re-started professional boxing career will bring and as usual, we will keep and eye on the former heavyweight champion’s exploits.
