A Philanthropist is someone who makes voluntary contributions in terms of cash and economic empowement to promote the welfare and well being of others. If one is to accurately describe Hon. Sir Joel Ndubueze Ezeani( Nwanayoeze), the above definition correctly fits him.
Through his Joel Ndubueze Ezeani Foundation, this Ezinifite, Nnewi South, Anambra State born Philanthropist has touched the lives of countless number of people, especially the students, the youths, the physically challenged, the poor and the less privileged.
As the Chairman of CONSAR Construction Ltd., he has built Schools, Hospitals, Roads, at his own expence, not only in his home state of Anambra, but across the country. It is therefore no wonder when the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency needed someone to replace the outgoing Incumbent, the general consensus was for them to go for a tried and tested Philanthropist in the person of Nwanayoeze Joel Ndubueze Ezeani.
That is why he emerged without much stress as the clear winner of the Peoples Democratic Party Primary election for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency and he is now set to win the general election which comes up in February 2023. For us to have a better understanding of the abundance of what Sir Joel Ezeani has in stock for his people, let us share some of his thoughts: In a brief chat he had recently with some Journalists when he attended the Nnewi Afiaolu Festival, he said that he intends to use his office as a Member of the Federal House of Representatives to secure the good things of life for his people; to empower his people as he will embark on projects that will directly Impact his people in very positive ways.
He also promised to make use of the youths of his Constituency to form the workforce in all his Constituency projects in order to curb unemployment among the youths. In his words: “I’m going NASS to fight for my people. Most of my programs are centred around the youths. This insecurity problem is also caused by lack of jobs for the youths. Most of my empowement programs are going to settle the issue of youth restiveness.”
In another encounter with another set of Journalists at Igwe Nnewi Palace when he came on a solidarity visit to Nzuko Otolo Nnewi Development Union, he said:” I am going to consolidate on the achievements of the Incumbent Member, who has been on the seat for three tenures, which is 12 years. I came to assure them that I’m going to continue from where he stopped and do more than expected. I promise to complete any project that he started, but could not finish.”
On how he intends to empower the youths, he replied: ” I have a lot of programs for the youths. I have a Foundation which is geared towards youth empowement. I have been doing a lot of things for the youths. I have different kinds of empowement programs and the most visible one is giving out cash to Individuals, so that when they succeed,they can then take one or two other persons to also help as a revolving process. I am going to continue with this.”
He also promised to use his oversight functions to see that the roads and other Government amenities are properly taken care of. He stated that he has gone round and seen the condition of the roads and other Government Facilities and that as soon as he is sworn in, he will hit the ground running. On the educational sector, he said he would engage in high level lobby to make sure the children get the best in terms of education. But most importantly that deliberate efforts will be made to make sure jobs are created for the teeming youths. According to the Prince of Ekwusigo PDP, the Candidate, Sir Joel Ezeani is the most qualified Candidate across all Party lines. The Prince pointed out that it will not take much efforts for the PDP Candidate to sweep the polls judging by the mass acceptance and level of solidarity he has been enjoying right from the day he indicated his interest to run. As the February 25th 2023 date of the election draws closer, let us hope that these Noble and Worthy Ideas will translate into Reality. As the saying goes: With God All Things Are Possible.
