The Executive Committee of Lagos State Chapter of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria have reaffirmed its commitment towards the career support and welfare of past and present footballers, in the state.
In the press statement released after its executive meeting held at M$M International Hotel, Ikorodu, Chapter Chairman, Dr. Mohammed Ogidi, restated that the union is bent on ensuring that the welfare of present players is paramount in the activities of the union this year, 2023.
” PFAN in Lagos State is committed to the welfare and betterment of players. This is a new dawn for players unionism in the the state.
“We have lots of programmes aimed at developing and supporting players in the state. Therefore, we want to rally all footballers, past and present to key into our planned activities in this new year,” Ogidi stated.
During the meeting, the union paused and had a minute silence and prayers for the repose of the soul one of its prominent members, late Ganiyu Akanni, a former footballer and elder brother of Ex-Chairman of Lagos State FA, Waidi Akanni, who died last year.
