Street Afrobeat musician, Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has come out with guns blazing, while accusing his music colleagues of paying social media influencers to help them get to top of different music charts.
The ever fiery and controversial artist who made this accusation in a viral video, said,
“You guys are claiming to be topping the music charts, but I am the person collecting and doing shows.”
“I have over 2 million followers on social media. These are real people. It’s not dead people following me.”
Portable remarked gleefully that while he’s collecting royalties on his songs from Apple Music and other platforms, most of his colleagues are not collecting royalties on their assumed table topping songs.
“I collect royalties regularly on my music. Some of the over-hyped music stars don’t even know the distributors of their music or how royalties are paid.
“Yes, they get the high numbers on internet, while I’m collecting pounds and dollar in royalties,” he chides mockingly.
