Nigerians home and in the diaspora have continued to celebrate the outstanding performances of Nigeria’s Senior Women’s National team, D’Tigress in the ongoing FIBA Afrobasket championship in Kigali, Rwanda.
And several distinguished individuals too, have also been sending congratulatory messages to the team. In a message released by the Chairman, National Office Of Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, Prince Ajide Olayioye, on behalf of High Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, JP, it described the qualification of D’Tigress for the final of the Afrobasket championship as a soothing relief in view of the socio-economic challenges in the country.
“Nigerians are truly delighted by the performances of our senior female national basketball team. They have braved all odds to make us proud. I tell you, that’s the Nigerian spirit.”
“Let me therefore urge the team not to rest on their oars. Nigerians want them to go for the ultimate prize and that’s winning the championship again and for the fourth time in a roll. It is achievable,” the renowned businessman and sports philanthropist stated in the message.
