The movie ‘Ayinla’, produced by iconic films producer Tunde Kelani, was a box-office success in several ways, as it raked in so much money, and received wide acclaim for revoking the good old days of traditional Nigeria music.
However, the movie ‘Ayinla’, in the past few days, has been attracting negative vibes, particularly, from the family of the late Apala music legend.
In a recent statement akin to a disclaimer, daughter of the late musician, Queen Halima Omowura, said the movie is not a true portrayal of the life and times of her late father.
“The movie didn’t actually captured the truth about my father. It was a purely commercial film, without the real lifestyle of my father,” Queen Halima said.
“My father had tribal marks unlike the actor who played the role. Another wrong impression about my father in the movie, is that my father never fought on stage.”
While adding that the movie has done more damage to the image of her family, she revealed that a new film that would reveal the real Ayinla Omowura’s life and times, is in the making.
